Listening To Nature:
My Century in Science is
a Centenarian’s Autobiography.
Illustrated with photographs
of historic interest, this is the autobiography of Ray H. Crist, written
with his son Robert, which presents the personal experience and graphic career
of a leading scientist who was born on a farm and went on to become a
professor of chemistry at Columbia University, a researcher and director of
the Manhattan Project, an industrial research executive, and a volunteer
professor in the fields of history of science and environmental studies.
Working up to the age of 104, Professor Crist engaged in research, produced
numerous publications, and received national recognition for his sustained
efforts in science, his facing of the challenges of ageing, and his unceasing
devotion to ideas.
Listening to Nature: My Century in Science provides insight to Living,
Working, and Exploring at 104.
